Our
community was incorporated in 1911 as a Village, with about 350
residents. It lies just north of the City of Detroit and is about
one and a half square mile in size. The Shores is the smallest
of the five Grosse Pointe communities and the only one to be zoned
for single family dwellings only. It is still a small community,
currently with approximately 1100 households, about 3000 residents.
Grosse Pointe Shores is proud to be the home community of the
Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, which is tax exempt, and the Grosse
Pointe Yacht Club, the Shores' only commercial property.

Together
with our residents and our employees, the Village Council and
I continually strive to better the services we provide and the
quality of life here in Grosse Pointe Shores. We invite you to
visit us.Sincerely,
